IMAN in the month of March 2024

ISLAMIC MEDICAL ASSOCIATION ON NIGERIA IN THE MONTH OF MARCH, 2024

  1. On the second day of March, IMAN FMC Gusau Branch had her Annual General Meeting and also her IMAN cooperative meeting.
  2. On the 3rd day of March, IMAN Sokoto State conducted free medical outreach at Minarat Science Academy Gagi area, Sokoto. Several people had benefited from the timely intervention.
  3. On the 4th day of March, there was fire incidence at the house of our immediate past president of IMAN, Dr Salisu Ismail and his wife, the National Secretary of the sisters forum of MAN, sister Khadija Abdullahi Manga. Alhamdulillah! No live was lost. The National President of IMAN, Professor Ibrahim Oreagba and other members of IMAN pray that Allah SWT replace their lost properties and make it a Kaffara for their shortcomings.
  4. On 5th March, IMAN Zamfara chapter conducted a Ramadan lectures at Wanke and Dan Marken Maru areas of Maru LGA in Zamfara state.
  5. On the 8th day of March, IMAN FMC Gusau Branch had a change in leadership where Dr Abubakar Muhammad Ƙaura emerged as the new Chairman of the association.
  6. On the 9th day of March, IMAN Plateau State chapter conducted a Pre-Ramadan lecture titled “Positioning Ramadan with Diabetes and Peptic ulcer disease: Medical and Religious strategies for fasting safely” . The lectures were delivered by Dr Abdussalam Ahmad, Dr Maryam Jamila Ali, a consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist at JUTH, Plateau State, and Dr Danjuma Usman Gwani, a Lecturer with the department of Arabic Study, Federal University Kashere, Gombe State.
  7. Similarly, on the same day, IMAN AKTH Branch had her Pre-Ramadan lecture titled “Navigating Ramadan with Diabetes and Peptic Ulcer Diseases: Medical and Religious strategies for fasting safely” (Yadda mai ciwon suga da mai ciwon Gyambon ciki zai yi Azumin Ramadan lafiya a Mahangar Addini da Likitanci) The Lecturers were: Sheikh Aminu Ibrahim Daurawa, Shugaban Hisbah, Kano, Professor Ibrahim Danjummai Gezawa, a Consultant Endocrinologist, AKTH/BUK, Kano and Professor Alhaji Adamu Sama’ila, a Consultant Gastroenterologist, AKTH/BUK, Kano.
  8. Correspondingly, on the same day the National body of IMAN in collaboration with IMAN Zamfara State Chapter and Arewa professional in Saudi Arabia charity organization had conducted free food distribution to IDPs, poor and vulnerable people at Gusau, Zamfara State, Nigeria.
  9. On the 10th day of March, IMAN FTH Katsina had her Pre-Ramadan lecture, Annual General Meeting and inauguration of the newly nominated executives at Admin Conference Hall, FTH Katsina. The lecture was presented by Dr Ahmad Musa Abdullahi Filin Sami.
  10. Similarly, on the same day, IMAN Maiduguri branch had her Pre-Ramadan lecture titled “Shiri Saboda Samun Ramadan Ingantacce (preparation to acquire a genuine Ramadan)”. The lecture was delivered by Sheikh Ahmad Alhaji Abubakar. The second topic was the management of Dyspepsia during Ramadan fast delivered by Dr Ayuba Dauda Dayar, a consultant Gastroenterologist, UMTH, Borno State.
  11. On the same day, IMAN UDUTH/UDUS Branch conducted her Pre-Ramadan lecture and orientation of the new members. The lecture was titled “Navigating Ramadan Fasting in the current economic hardship” The presenter was Dr Mustapha Sidi Attahiru, Chief Imam Sidi Attahiru Jumu’at Masjid, Ali Aƙilu Road Sokoto.
  12. Concurrently, on the same day, IMAN ATBUTH Bauchi Branch in collaboration with Association of Muslim Health Students (AMHS), ATBU Bauchi, Insane Zakat and Waqf Foundation (IZWAF), Bauchi State, Bauchi Islamic Development Forum (BIDEF) conducted a graduation walimah for the pioneer Doctors of Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University (ATBU), Bauchi. The Lecturer were: Professor Salisu Shehu, VC Al-Istiqama University, Sumaila, Kano, Dr Yahkub Mutalub, a consultant Family Physician and HOD Pharmacology, ATBU/ATBUTH, Bauchi and Dr Auwal Adamu, a consultant Otorhinolaryngology, ATBU/ATBUTH, Bauchi.
  13. On the 12th day of March, IMAN Zamfara State Chapter conducted a Ramadan Lecture at Mareri area of Gusau, Zamfara State.
  14. On the 14th day of Ramadan, IMAN Abaji/Rubochi Branch had her Pre-Ramadan lecture titled “Ramadan: Easy pathway to paradise” The Lecture was presented by Ustaz Muhammad Tanimu at the Abaji General Hospital Masjid, Abuja.
  15. Similarly, on the same day, the Chairman, IMAN Edo State Chapter led the executive committee and members of IMAN Edo Central for a courtesy call to the newly appointed CMD, Irrua Specialist Teaching Hospital, Prof Reuben Eifediyi. He pledged to support IMAN activities including the cooperative society in the institution.
  16. On the same day, IMAN FTH Katsina Branch had a change of leadership where Dr Nuraddeen Ibrahim emerged as the chairman of the Branch.
  17. On the 17th day of March, IMAN FCT Chapter in collaboration with the Muslim Ummah of the National Hospital Abuja conducted a Ramadan lecture titled “Ramadan: Easy pathway to paradise”. The lecture was delivered by Sheikh Abusakeenah Abdrraheem (Ibn-Malik) at hall A 3rd floor, Trauma Centre, National Hospital, Abuja.
  18. On the 20th of March, IMAN UITH, Ilorin Branch had a Ramadan lecture titled “The State of the Believer: Between Hardship and Relief” The speaker was Hon. Justice Abdur-Raheem Ahmad Sayi (Khadi) at the UITH schools complex, Amilegbe, Ilorin, Kwara State.
  19. On the 20th day of March, Muslim community of FMC Abuja had a virtual Ramadan lecture titled “Ramadan: A means to reconnect with Allah SWT by attaining piety” The Lecture was presented by Dr H.D Muhammad, a Consultant Family Physician and Geriatrician, the National PRO 1 of IMAN.
  20. On the 22nd day of March, the partners of IMAN, The Green Crescent Health Development Initiative (GHI), Nigeria had her 2024 side event at the 67th CND Vienna Austria. During which a virtual presentation was made titled “Partnerships for the Effective Implementation of International Drug Commitments” Some members of IMAN attended the session.
  21. On the 23rd day of March, IMAN National Executive Committee (NEC) had a meeting with the National Conference Planning Committee (NCPC) & Local Organizing Committee (LOC). The agenda for the meeting was the Annual General Meeting and Scientific Conference of IMAN, MAIDUGURI, 2024. During the meeting significant progress has been achieved including the theme, sub-themes and date of the AGM/Scientific Conference.
  22. On the 23rd day of March, IMAN received with dismay the passing away of the elder brother of the PRO, IMAN Plateau State chapter, Malam Saminu Chiroma. The National President and the entire members of IMAN wish to register our sincere condolences and prayers to you. May Allah SWT have mercy on him and admit him into Al-jannatul Firdaus.
  23. On the 24th day of March, the sister’s forum of IMAN FTH Gombe Branch in collaboration with IMAN Gombe State chapter conducted her Ramadan lecture at the FTH Gombe Central masjid.
  24. On the 26th day of March, IMAN Katsina State chapter met her Grand Patron, Justice Musa Danladi Abubakar in an attempt to kickstart the IMAN Pharmacy and Clinic with an immediate effect.
  25. On the 27th day of March, IMAN UDUS/UDUTH conducted her AGM and grand Iftar at the CHS Auditorium Behind Trauma Center, UDUTH, Sokoto.
  26. On the 30th day of March, IMAN Zamfara State Chapter distributed Ramadan welfare package to the administrative council and supportive staff of the association.
  27. Similarly, on the same day, IMAN FCT Chapter, conducted a Ramadan Medical Outreach in collaboration with Muslim Professionals in Da’awah (MPD) at the MPD headquarters, Plot No. 74 sector centre,H Cadastral zone C22 APO, Abuja, FCT, Nigeria.
  28. On the 31st day of March IMAN Niger State Chapter conducted a Ramadan lecture at Niger State.
  29. On the same day of March, IMAN Lagos State Chapter conducted a free Ramadan Medical Outreach at Aradagun, Badagry, Lagos, Lagos State. During the program 173 people benefited from ophthalmologists consultation, and 134 eye drops were dispensed & 112 reading spectacles were distributed. Sixteen patients were referred for cataract surgeries. A total of 520 persons were consulted and treated with free dugs for various diseases including dermatitis, malaria, cellulitis, Hypertension, diabetes and other diseases. Twenty people benefited from dentists consultations out of which twelve had tooth extraction.
    May Allah accept these acts as Ibadah and reward all those who participated and supported the program. May this serve as a role model to other branches and chapters of IMAN.
  30. IMAN Ahmad Sani Yariman Bakura Specialist Hospital (A.Y.B.S.H), Gusau Branch had conducted Tafseer at the hospital’s masjid throughout the period of Ramadan.
  31. IMAN UDUTH/UDUS branch Sokoto provided iftar to more than 100 members of AMHS, Sokoto State chapter from first to the last day of Ramadan.
  32. University of Ilorin Teaching Hospital (UITH) IMAN Branch successfully conducted weekly Ramadan Radio programs through competent and seasoned scholars as follows:
    • First week “Position and significance of Fasting in Islam”
    • Second week “Medical importance of Fasting”
    • Third week “I’tikaaf and Laylatul-Qadr in Islam”
    • Fourth week “Zakatul-Fitr and Eid-ul-Fitr in Islam”
  33. As the 31st day of March marked the end of the first quarter of the year 2024, the President of IMAN, Professor Ibrahim Oreagba called on the entire members of IMAN in Nigeria and Diaspora to pay their minimum annual development levy of 3,000 Naira.
  34. The date for the upcoming ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING AND SCIENTIFIC CONFERENCE OF IMAN, MAIDUGURI 2024 was fixed as 2ND TO 7TH SEPTEMBER, 2024.
