IMAN NATIONAL LEADERSHIP PAYS COURTESY VISIT TO HAJJ HOUSE
The National leadership of the Islamic Medical Association of Nigeria IMAN paid a familiarization visit to the leadership of the National Hajj Commission NAHCON at the Hajj House in the Federal Capital territory, Abuja, Thursday 14th January2021.
The team was received by the Chairman/Chief Executive Officer of the Hajj Commission, Shaykh Zikrullaah Olakunle Hassan and his team of executive commissioners and directors.
NAHCON welcomed IMAN and the Chairman/CEO spoke on the impact of the activism of the founding president, Professor Abdulfatai Mabadeje on him and his colleagues during their undergraduate days in the university and thus know that the Association would be a formidable one. He equally commended the professionally intimidating team of Muslim health professionals who are at the helm of affairs while promising to maintain and improve upon the existing collaboration between the two organisations in terms of the health affairs of Nigerian pilgrims.
In his response, the President of the Association, Professor Ibrahim Oreagba in a powerpoint presentation highlighted the history of the collaboration between the two organisations and the impact IMAN has had on the hujjaj and hajj affairs as a whole throughout the period of review. He also made some request that would make it possible for the organisation to deliver more to the hujjaj and hajj operations. Requests were made on some of the projects and programs of IMAN. Responding to the demands, the henchman of the hajj commission commended the president, his team and the organisation as well as the intellectually packaged presentation, requested a copy to be submitted while delegating an executive commissioner to hold a brief meeting with the team after the courtesy visit as to see possible areas of collaboration. He maintained that the organisation may not be able to financially assist the organisation as hajj commission is now more of internally generated fund driven as the government has withdrawn the previously known sponsorship of pilgrimage operations. He nevertheless promised to carry along IMAN as an important stakeholder especially in affairs related to health affairs of the pilgrims.
Other members of the teams spoke and picture session took place after which the next meeting mandated by the Chairman/CEO took place immediately.
